[edit] Flickr Advanced

The flickr tags search is only able to do single tag searches, I would like a search plugin for Flickr that would search multiple tags. Either of the search boxes at http://www.flickr.com/photos/search/ would do. I have tried to adapt other search plugins such as flickr groups and flickr ideas, but my html skills are limited and the best I can do is get the search plugin to pop up with the advanced search page. Any help? (February 20, 2006)

Search plugins use the search form from the web sites, so it's impossible for a search plugin can do more than the search form on the web site. --LouCypher 18:23, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

Lou, thank you for that info. I see that you wrote most of the search plugins for flickr on Mozdev. The advanced search is a new feature offered by flickr that searches through muliple tags. The URL is http://www.flickr.com/photos/search/ , which is different from the tags plgin that already exists. Would it be possible to adapt any of the existing searches to that search page?

The existing plugin, with a search query of "paris cathedral", gives

http://www.flickr.com/photos/tags/pariscathedral/

...with only photos tagged with that exact phrase.

I tried to do a simple modification of a tag you wrote, but when I attempt it, it returns:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/search/tags?q=paris+cathedral&page=0&sourceid=mozilla-search

... with no search results. Whereas, a search done from the advanced page returns:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/search/tags:paris%2Ccathedral/tagmode:all/

And of course, it has applicable photos that contain both tags uniquely.

[edit] Google Desktop

I want a plugin for Google Desktop and there's none for it on the official MyCroft site. I am therefore disappointed. I would love to be able to search GDS in Firefox. Thanks. --Tom talk/Bliki 03:25, 26 Mar 2005 (EST)

Requires Windows XP or Windows 2000 SP 3+
I'm on Win98 SE :( --LouCypher 09:41, 26 Mar 2005 (EST)
I found this from del.icio.us/tag/mycroft, Google Desktop Search in Firefox via Mycroft --LouCypher 00:22, 8 Apr 2005 (EDT)
Seems to work. I suppose he could setup a page to generate a .src on the fly, from your ID. --Tom talk/Bliki 02:09, 8 Apr 2005 (EDT)

[edit] Template

I noticed on each page it has a link to this page, an arrow, and a category link - wouldn't it just be easier to use a template for all of that?

Template:SP - here it is, to put it on the page use this text:

 {{SP|name}}

Where name is the name to show up in the category page.

With permission I can put this on every page ;) --Skuld 15:51, 16 Aug 2005 (UTC)
